Mica Powder
Mica powder is created through a fine-grinding process, where mica scrap is thoroughly ground and crushed. There are two main methods to produce mica powder: wet grinding and dry grinding. At SRM Mineral, we specialize in the dry grinding process to achieve the finest grains, with the capability to supply up to 325 mesh. We utilize rotary and vibrator sieves to produce particle sizes tailored to customer specifications.

Micronized Mica serves as a pigment extender in various paints and coatings. This mineral is rigid, flexible, and transparent, and can be finely ground to less than a micron sieve mesh. Mica enhances the tone of colored pigments while transmitting and reflecting light, creating striking decorative effects. It boosts the gloss of paint more effectively than spherical or irregularly shaped fillers of similar size. Mica also ensures even spacing of pigment particles in the dried paint film, optimizing the performance of other pigments. Being an inert material, mica resists the effects of light, heat, temperature, electricity, water, acids, and alkalis, reducing hydrolytic and electrical action within the paint film. Additionally, mica provides resistance against destructive sun rays, moisture, and atmospheric gases, minimizing blistering and staining.
